Clean Air Agency cancels "Smog Watch" for Puget Sound

Seattle, Wednesday, September 15, 1999 -- A marine air surge has brought fog -- and with it clean air -- to much of the Puget Sound area. The Puget Sound Clean Air Agency has canceled its 'Smog Watch' advisory, effective Wednesday morning, September 15.

Smog pollution levels increased over the last few days, prompting the agency to issue a 'Smog Watch.'

Peak levels of smog pollution were measured on Tuesday afternoon, though all levels were still below the federal health standard. Lower than predicted daytime temperatures on Tuesday may have helped keep the region's air quality out of jeopardy.

We offer the lastest data about smog levels.
