Air Quality Planning
Here you will find information about:
Staff provide specialized technical assistance, regulatory information, and
environmental review and policy analysis pertaining to a wide variety of
air quality management issues affecting the Puget Sound region. The primary
beneficiaries of these services are our citizens and federal, state and local
governmental agencies. Currently, specific activity areas include:

Growth management and air quality policy coordination;

Technical environmental impact statement advice and reviews;

Emission projections/trend analysis and long-term (2010) air quality standards
maintenance planning for carbon monoxide, ozone and particulate matter;

Regional visibility studies and ozone (smog) chemistry and transport scientific
research;

Transportation-related carbon monoxide emissions controls and project-level
"conformity" modeling research;
-
Participation as air quality resources for intergovernmental regional forums
and committees concerning significant transportation system and urban land
development proposals.
