Projects
We are continually looking for the answers to some of our most common and troubling air quality problems. Through air quality projects funded by our Board of Directors and grants from the Washington State Department of Ecology and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, we are able to take steps toward further improving air quality in our region.
A number of health studies have been conducted in the Puget Sound area that seek to improve our understanding of the connection between air pollution and health effects for humans and plant life. Here are a selection of some studies in progress.
Urban visibility appears to have declined in recent years. This project is a long-term study of the visibility impairment and possible solutions. Here you will find information and pictures about the Seattle Urban Visibility Project.
Our agency staff work with a variety of different
air quality planning projects. Many of these
are related to the growth that the Puget Sound region is experiencing.
